Volunteer Coordinator/Program Advocate: Rape & Suicide Crisis Of Southeast Texas, Inc.

SUPERVISED BY: Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS: B A in Social Services or Related and/or Administrative Certification with 2 years college or better. Must have no less than 2 years of experience in providing crisis intervention services to victims of sexual assault. In addition, must have recruiting and/or public speaking, computer as well as administrative skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Volunteers
  • Work directly with Survivor Services Specialist and Case manager in the provision of victim services.
  • Data entry of Volunteer Hours
  • Responsible for mailing timesheets and monitoring signatures of volunteer time sheets.
  • Responsible for writing and distributing volunteer newsletter.
  • Responsible for providing current information on sexual assault or survivor services to volunteers.
  • Maintain and coordinate hotline schedule and accompaniment schedule with approval of Executive Director.
  • Complete crisis sheets and registration forms as identified.
  • Recruit and train volunteer on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain personal certification through TAASA which includes attending special training, continuing education, and annual training.
  • Type all letters, memos, minutes, agendas, and other material prepared by Executive Director, Education Coordinator, or Board member.
  • Answer phones; record all messages including time, date, phone number, and appropriate message.
  • Help cover 24 hour and medical accompaniment shifts during the daytime, nighttime, and weekends if necessary.
  • Deliver outgoing mail to post office and/or pick up mail as requested and document activity as required.
  • Maintain and update office and volunteer files.
  • Prepare and mail out information requested by various clients and/or professionals.
  • Mail or email board notices on the third Tuesday of each month.
  • Arrange details or retrieve information for meeting (Board, in-service, etc.) as needed or as advised by the Executive Director, or Board of Directors.
  • Prepare Board Packet for meetings held on 4th Tuesday of each month.
  • Distribute information to all interested volunteers as needed.
  • Create various forms as requested or needed.
  • Compose various letters, memos, etc., as requested or needed.
  • Prepare check requests for accounts payable as needed.
  • Prepare documents and files for annual audit.
  • Research grants to support Volunteer Program.
  • Prepare timesheets for paid on call Advocates.
  • Any duties assigned to Volunteer Coordinator from Executive Director.
