Located at the shelter, this position involves providing crisis intervention on the hotline to sexual assault and domestic violence survivors and their loved ones, safety planning, screening for shelter admissions, making referrals to community resources and providing hospital advocacy at local hospitals to recent sexual assault survivors and their loved ones.
Requirements: Fully Bilingual (English/ Spanish) required. Proficiency in ASL is preferred. B.A in Social Work or related field or relevant work or volunteer experience. 1-2 years crisis intervention experience preferred. Ability to respond to clients, on the telephone and in person, in a constructive and supportive manner as well as problem-solve and diffuse crises under pressure. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues preferred, as well as knowledge of local community resources.
