Cultural Awareness Certification

TAASA developed the Cultural Awareness Certification (CAC) program to ensure that traditionally underserved communities in Texas are able to receive culturally-competent care in Texas rape crisis centers. The program focuses on different ethnic and religious communities; immigrants; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) communities; people with disabilities; people of different ages and more. TAASA believes that it is necessary to learn about different groups of people and their specific needs in order to provide effective services.

Volunteer Management Certification

In an effort to bring support and knowledge to those that manage one of our agency’s most valuable assets, our volunteers, TAASA has developed the Volunteer Management Certification (VMC) program, the first of its kind within sexual assault coalitions, to provide extended educational opportunities to agency staff that manage or coordinate volunteerss
