Program Specialist-Training

Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas (CACTX) is a non-profit membership association for 64 centers in Texas that provide services to children who are victims of abuse. The Training Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing trainings for a wide variety of audiences including local center staff, child protective services, law enforcement, and prosecutors. The Crisis Center of Comal County

Prevention Educator -- $25,000/year

The Crisis Center of Comal County is seeking to hire a Prevention Educator. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining educational curricula for school age children and providing structured prevention education regarding domestic violence and sexual assault issues to local schools. This position will also provide prevention education to community organizations and conduct public speaking engagements. High school diploma or GED required. College preferred. SafePlace: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survival Center

DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE - $30,000/yr

The Development Associate oversees the solicitation and receipt of in-kind donations including, but not limited to: auto donations, cell phone drives, food donations, third party donation drives, holiday giving. They additionally coordinate the 3rd party events program.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, public administration, journalism, public relations or a related field, or equivalent work experience; two years experience in fundraising and special event coordination preferred; experience and ability in establishing teamwork, loyalty, and enthusiasm among non-profit event volunteers; excellent communications skills; and creativity in event execution and in maximizing revenues. Occasional evening and weekend hours required.

WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR - $12.50 - $12.97/Hr

Reporting to the Operations & Facilities Manager, the Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the SafePlace Warehouse, including the handling of incoming donations, providing customer service to SafePlace donors, maintaining the organization of the donations receiving area, supervising Warehouse volunteers, and related administrative duties.
Requirements: Must have high school diploma or GED; must have demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to greet and work with the public; ability to lift 40 lbs; Possess basic computer skills; possess and maintain a clean driving record and ability to work as a team member, Experience with or knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues is desirable.

CRISIS INTERVENTION PROVIDER - $12.26/hr

Located at the shelter, this position involves providing crisis intervention on the hotline to sexual assault and domestic violence survivors and their loved ones, safety planning, screening for shelter admissions, making referrals to community resources and providing hospital advocacy at local hospitals to recent sexual assault survivors and their loved ones.
Requirements: Fully Bilingual (English/ Spanish) required. Proficiency in ASL is preferred. B.A in Social Work or related field or relevant work or volunteer experience. 1-2 years crisis intervention experience preferred. Ability to respond to clients, on the telephone and in person, in a constructive and supportive manner as well as problem-solves and diffuses crises under pressure. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues preferred, as well as knowledge of local community resources. M-F 8am-4pm.

CHILDREN’S ADVOCATE - Part Time - $12.26/hr

Works with children that have experienced domestic violence and homelessness. Ability to implement therapeutic activities. Minimum of V.S. in Education, Child Development, Social Work, or equivalent life/work experiences. Fluency in Spanish preferred. This part-time position will work on Monday/Thursday/Friday from 2:30 – 5:30 and Tuesday/Wednesday from 2:30 – 8:30 p.m.

RESIDENT ADVISORS - Part Time - $12.26/hr

The primary responsibilities of the Resident Advisor (RA) are to provide crisis intervention and referrals on the hotline and resident assistance to those in the Family Shelter. Approves admission to both shelters in accordance with SafePlace policies and procedures. Provides front desk coverage (answering incoming calls, responding to intercoms, assisting residents at front desk, etc.) in between hotline calls as needed. Provides shelter intake to incoming shelter clients and helps client move and settle into shelter. Participates in volunteer training when needed.
Requirements: B.A in Social Work or related field or relevant life experience, work, volunteer experience. 1-2 years crisis counseling experience preferred. Ability to respond to clients, on the telephone and in person, in a constructive and supportive manner. Ability to problem-solves and diffuses crises under pressure. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues. Light clerical skills. Position is Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Relief Staff at Shelter – RESIDENT ADVISORS - $10.00 - $10.50/hr

Relief staff Residents Advisors provide relief coverage at the Shelter Front Desk, during various shifts (this includes overnights, evenings, weekends). Primary duties include monitoring security gates and cameras, completing intakes with new residents, answering hotline calls, gathering basic needs for clients, providing crisis intervention and conflict resolution for residents and their children, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: B.A. in Social Work or related field or relevant life experience, work, volunteer experience. 1 to 2 years crisis intervention experience preferred. Ability to respond to callers and shelter residents on the telephone and in person, in a constructive and supportive manner. Ability to problem-solves and provides conflict resolution. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues. Light clerical skills essential. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking preferred.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS - $10.00/hr

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for the physical, mental, emotional, and intellectual development of all the children entrusted in their care. Maintains good relationships with the parents of each child.
Requirements: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma, CDA or 12 plus hours in child development/early education or related field preferred; At least one year experience working with children 3 years to 5 years of age; Must have or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR training.

VIP Center Director - $45,040-$74,316/year

Job Summary

The Violence, Intervention, and Prevention (VIP) Director position will provide administrative leadership for the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director's focus is on the delivery and assessment of training programs; promotion of victim services and resources; and advocacy related to intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of power-based interpersonal violence in the collegiate setting with a primary emphasis on students. Demonstrated experience in team supervision, fiscal oversight, grant writing, and understanding of contemporary theory/practice in the field is essential. Professional level experience in working directly with intervention services is required. Excellent communication skills; demonstrated experience in partnership and coalition development at the local, state, and national levels; and engagement in related professional associations and networks are key elements for the successful candidate.

Masters degree and 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience is required. Doctorate preferred.
