Programs
Diversity and Cultural Competency
In order to effectively serve Texas residents, anti-sexual violence advocates and other service providers must have a working knowledge of a variety of diversity-related issues and be able to apply that knowledge to their work.
Primary Prevention
The primary prevention program at TAASA strives to help rape crisis centers and other community partners around Texas find ways to prevent sexual violence from happening in their communities.
Interpersonal Violence Prevention Collaborative (IVPC)
The IVPC is a network of individuals and organizations (including TAASA) that work together to prevent sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking.
Public Awareness Campaign
“Speak Up. Speak Out.” is TAASA’s award-winning public awareness campaign that features actual sexual assault survivors telling their stories in their own words.
Public Policy
TAASA advocates for state legislation that is beneficial to sexual assault survivors and service providers, both through direct action and education.
Training
TAASA staff train a variety of audiences all across the state on issues relating to sexual violence.
Volunteer Management
Volunteers are vital to rape crisis centers, so TAASA aims to support centers in their efforts to recruit, train and maintain strong volunteer bases.
Youth
Training is available on a variety of youth-centered topics, both for young people and adults. TAASA also facilitates the Texas PEACE Project (Peer Educators Acting for Change and Equality) – our youth program that is dedicated to engaging Texas middle school, high school and college-age youth in the campaign to end sexual violence.
