Youth
Engaging youth in the campaign against sexual violence is vital in order to make true change – especially since young people are disproportionately affected by sexual violence. TAASA staff members are available to provide trainings for youth and for people who work youth on a variety of relevant topics.
The Texas PEACE Project (Peer Educators Acting for Change and Equality), formerly known as Students Taking Action for Respect or STAR, is our youth program that aims to fully engage middle school, high school and college-aged youth in the campaign to end sexual violence. The goals of the program include increasing youth understanding of the root causes of sexual violence and increasing activism among youth to prevent sexual and dating violence.
Once a year, TAASA produces materials for Green Ribbon Week – a middle and high school-specific sexual and dating violence awareness program.
