This section includes two articles focusing on the importance of social change work in the movement to end sexual violence, as well as suggestions for events and interactive training activities with a social change focus.

In order to help non-profit organizations make an impact this election year, this section explains the rules of election advocacy for non-profits and outlines examples of permissible and non-permissible activities.

Helpful Statistics
Compelling, up-to-date statistics are always important, whether you’re working with the media or designing outreach materials. This section contains recent statistics on a variety of sexual assault-related topics, and much of the information is Texas specific.

Working with the Media
A sample proclamation, news advisory and news release, plus information on how to write a letter to the editor are all included in this section to help your organization with media relations. You will also find a communications calendar that outlines monthly observances relevant to the anti-sexual violence movement.

You can use these graphics on posters and fliers to advertise your SAAPM activities, or even on your agency’s website. Feel free to edit the images to include your organizations contact information.
