Cecilia Perkins, Event Coordinator

Cecilia is TAASA’s event coordinator. She previously worked for the Austin Independent School District’s Professional Development Academy which oversees Austin teachers’ continuing education training. She worked in library services for 15 years and also spent two years with AISD’s Chapter I Administrative Program - a reading and literary arts program that provides underprivileged children with educationally enriching materials such as books and computers.

Cecilia has worked at TAASA since 2001. Her first position was membership services specialist, then she became executive assistant to the executive director and later community affairs coordinator. Cecilia was co-chair for the TAASA Diversity Task Force for five years and under her leadership TAASA‘s Victim Advocate's Guide to Cultural Competency was developed. Cecilia moved into her current position as event coordinator in 2006.
