Lyndel Williams, Training Director
Lyndel is TAASA’s training director. Since 2001, he has managed TAASA’s training function including the scheduling of all trainings, researching and writing training curriculum and the supervision of staff trainers. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nicholls State University and has spent over 16 years working with the criminal justice systems of both Texas and Louisiana. Since joining TAASA’s staff in 1999, Lyndel has trained for TAASA on topics such as sexual predators, acquaintance rape, drug-facilitated sexual assault, psychopaths, sexual assault of elderly people and people with disabilities, child and adolescent sexual assault issues and stalking.
Lyndel is certified in basic crisis intervention and has completed the National College of District Attorneys Prosecution of Sexual Assault course. He is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association and a certified TCLEOSE instructor. He is also a consultant for the Office for Victims of Crime, Training and Technical Assistance Center. In 2006, Lyndel was appointed by Governor Perry to the Governor’s Criminal Justice Advisory Council.
