Victoria "Torie" Camp, Deputy Director

Torie is TAASA’s deputy director. In 1997, Torie began her work in the anti-sexual assault field as a rape prevention educator working for the Alabama Coalition Against Rape (ACAR). She provided presentations to middle and high school students, teachers, law enforcement officers, nurses, community groups and others in 15 counties in rural Alabama. Torie became executive director of ACAR in 1999. Following her tenure there, she set her sights on Texas and moved to Austin, joining the TAASA team in 2001. Torie continues training, but now spends more time leading various public policy initiatives, special projects and day-to-day operations at the TAASA office. Her areas of expertise and interest include state and federal funding for sexual violence research, prevention, treatment and response as well as the development of sound policies to benefit sexual violence survivors and reduce the incidence of sexual assault in Texas. Torie holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Colorado State University and a master's degree in educational psychology from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

You may reach Torie by phone at 512-474-7190 x 18 or email.
