Join Us

The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault is inviting applications to our Survivor Advisory Board (SAB). The goal of the SAB is to ensure those directly impacted by sexual violence help lead TAASA’s efforts to shape local and statewide sexual assault policy. As a member of the SAB, your experience as a survivor and community organizer will drive policy change in Texas.

Board Members

  • SCS is a quarterly virtual community gathering of survivors of sexual violence from across the state of Texas hosted by TAASA’s Survivor Advisory Board. The goal of SCS is to build community, foster empowerment, and discuss current events and other topics related to survivorship. This space is exclusively for people who have personally experienced sexual violence. Add your email address here to join SCS.

  • If you would like feedback from our Survivor Advisory Board on your programs, policies, or services, our board members are ready to help! Using this form, members of the SAB can begin to work with rape crisis centers, government entities, and sexual assault response teams who would like survivor feedback on programs, policies, and services. Our SAB members will be in touch once they’ve had time to review.

About Us

We are survivors of various forms of sexual exploitation and trafficking collaborating together without judgment but with compassion, empathy, and love.

Our Work

Empowerment of Survivors by Elevating Their Voices and Creating Pathways for Opportunity. Victims’ and survivors’ experiences ground our efforts. We honor the dignity, agency, and resilience of victims and survivors of slavery, both past and present. We serve, work alongside, and stand in solidarity with those who have been most affected by modern slavery. We come to the table together, cohesively, and in one accord to advise, counsel, and guide various governmental agencies, providers, and community stakeholders on policy and legislation, including but not limited to best practices for giving survivors the gold standard of care. We provide expert training and panels, TBR I, and survivor-led event facilitation.

Our Mission

To review, recommend, and develop survivor-informed policies and best practices that address commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking across the State of Texas.

Our Vision

To see cultural change and sustainable practices that enhance efforts to end commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
